spa voucher wouldn't work. She is a SAHM with a DP who travels a lot and she would have no way of getting to use it without a lot of inconvenience - i want to avoid this

The LG purse is cute - though I think I prefer the lipstick/bags/shop ones. But that's just me. LG is good because she's not obvious and not exorbitant. Her make up cases certainly used to be good value (I have one, and bought one for a sister many moons ago) - they used to have small detachable mirrors in a little pocket and were a v. good, handbaggable size. In short, I like LG things and think it's a good gift choice.

Smellies are a good present. People rarely buy the more extravagant things themselves which makes them a lovely, everyday-in-a-special-way thing. Ren rose otto bath oil is great.
