Reasonably priced boots for the chunky of calf

I am looking for some knee length boots for the winter, need both chunky low heel and something with a mid heel that can look reasonably smart but still walkable in. In the past have bought from Duo - but times is hard. Can anyone recommend something that is a little lower in price.

I was going to say Duo. What about Evans? Maybe look on Ebay for 2nd hand pair from Duo?

As recommended on mumsnet last year, I bought these fly boots. Not cheap, but cheaper than duo. They fit my chubby legs just fine, very comfortable, and have worn very well.

Those fly boots won't fit my calves. I've tried them on and there was no way.

I just bought some nice lose leather boots from Sainsbos. £45 but I got them when they had 25% off.

The Fly boots look great ! Bit worried about fitting my fatty calves in them.

Shall have to take a look at Sainsbos - very reasonable

If you are very chunky in the calf then the Flys will not fit, I can just about get mine into the MES which are a slightly shorter version but they look naff with a skirt. You have to be careful too as the soles get very slippy in wet weather, my friend fell over in the playground with hers and was mortified.

Clarks did boots for the chunky of calf last year.

try simplybe - they do different width and calf fitting. I am very chunky of calf but small of foot and just got some nice ones after looking for years!!!!

I'm thinking about ordering these as I'm on my feet constantly at work but think that they are still smart

Or I also like these for the weekend synthetic so I could't wear them all day
but I think I could balance on the chunky heel

Jones boots with elastic fit my thigh calves. Whilst not much use now, the sale is very reasonable. For the past 2 years I have bought a pair at £40. I think boots are a mission, you need to try on to check for comfort. Asda and Tesco also have bargains.
