Is the North Face Metropolis coat waterproof? If not is there a good long wateproof warm coat?

I wanted a long (past the knee coat) for the winter that would be warm and waterproof. I had plumped for the Merrell Isadore but it is no longer being produced so I have decided on the North face Metropolis. However, I have just read a review for it which says that it is not waterproof and as it is a down coat is actually sucks the moisture into the coat.

So, does anyone have any experience of it? or can anyone make a better suggestion

I got the Merrell Haven last year and it is probably just above the knee on me, but I'm 5'9. It doesn't look it, but it is waterproof and lovely and warm.

I really do want one below the knee. The more I read about the Metropolis the more it seems that it is not waterproof. I've been looking for 2 months now for a winter coat so that I don't have to repeat the hellish school pick ups of last year.

IIRC there was a whole huge thread a while ago about finding the perfect long waterproof winter coat?

No, it is above the knee.
