hats

I'm not an old lady.

But I dream of wearing a hat. I dye my hair a lot with semi-permanent dye and it makes me afraid of rain.

Does anyone have a hat?

I love hats. I genuinely thought they would make a big comeback after Kate Middleton popped back up. I have several, but am not always brave enough to wear them.

I assume you want every day going out shopping hats, now that summer party/barbecue weather is over?

Do you have a good shaped head for hats? My mum doesn't, but we manage to find her one sometimes. My sister has the best shaped head and I have one in the middle. I tried this on the other week, and it is lovely.

I love that Cloche hat Smile

I do woolly hats in the winter all the time...do you mean woolly ones or something fancier?

Nagoo · 06/09/2011 19:01

No, a proper hat. Kind of like that cloche one I guess, but not quite.

like this?

Nagoo · 06/09/2011 19:09

I don't know about my head.... what makes a good head for hats? I find that in winter if my hair is very short I can't wear a hat, they look crap. But if I have longer hair I still look like a girl so that is ok.

I also have glasses. Is there a glasses factor?

I love those hats you linked to Nagoo, It all depends on your face shape and the kind of clothes you wear too, I don't think you could get away with wearing anything to casual with that kind of hat.

God I live in the wrong era and have a stupid potato head

Nagoo · 06/09/2011 19:50

I bought a nice posh mac, so I was planning on hiding my rubbish clothes under glamorous outerwear?

You are probably right though, I need a more casual hat.

OP posts:

is this even nice?

I am afraid of structured hats as the weather here is so so appalling!

munks I has a few woolly numbers, I want something a bit 'proper' I think.

I'm going to drink some gin and then wear one.

OP posts:
munkiii · 06/09/2011 20:28

I used to have a red velvet floppy clochey grungy hat and one in bottle green velvet that I wore a brooch in.

I thought I looked a bit like a girl Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam would fall in love with

oldsilver · 06/09/2011 20:28

Tis true - works really well!! DP has the green one he wears on soggy golfing days too.

DoubleDegreeStudent · 06/09/2011 21:59

We could have a day where we all promise faithfully to go out wearing hats. Then we won't feel stupid. But it might make mnetters a bit obvious Grin

argghh · 07/09/2011 06:02

I love hats and they like me ! But I rarely wear one. I shall go out on payday and treat myself to a new hat.

Nagoo · 07/09/2011 09:01

argghh when you do I want to see it.

I've bought a coat with a hood...
