What's the rules on leg length

If wearing straight leg jeans and high heels? How long should the jeans be?

At least half way down the heel or longer.

? Confused at least, that's what I aim for!

That's what I thought but do they not crumple up because there isn't enough fabric as in say a boot cut to over your foot properly?

I buy boot cut (faux pas on here!) but I think the extra fabric means it doesn't crumple - it rests on the top of the foot and down the heel. A straight leg/ narrow leg would crumple.
