Smoothing frizziness - keratin or gloss treatment etc?

I am confused. What are these and what sort of treatment would be best for smoothing terrible coarse frizziness around my temples? Very unprofessional and am sick of it. Willing to pay whatever it costs!

I had a keratin treatment and it did work (cost about £200) although I later read that it has scary amounts of formaldehyde - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brazilian_hair_straightening

Have decided to sit this one out until people know more about its safety.

I've had two Brazilian treatments, twice that is not on my two heads (also awaiting info on chemicals) and they do work. Might be worth looking into the cause of your localised coarse frizz though. Did you shed lots of hair in this area post babies or perhaps wear hair pulled tightly back for extended periods? I have very curly hair, tight curls prone to frizz and find that using serums and twisting the hair in this area into a more ringlety type curl helps to "seal" them somewhat.

Thanks for your replies. Am aware that some keratin treatments contain formaldehyde (although a beautician told me not all ... ?!) and really do not like the sound of that. I did shed a lot of hair in the area post pregnancy, you are right fuctifano and do pull my hair back for work. I naturally have fine wavy hair prone to curl up. Do those conditioning gloss treatments do much for this problem does anyone know?

They do help, but you have to keep on top of it. I have had several Brazilian treatments. The first few weeks are marvellous, but after about 8 weeks, I start getting a bit of frizz again. My problem is that you are meant to use non-chloride (?) shampoo when you've had the treatment, and that kind of shampoo tends to give me dandruff. So either I have frizzy hair or dandruff. IMO the latter is worse, so I have given up on Brazilian treatments for the moment.
