Are Converse trainers weird sizes?

I just bought a pair of Converse trainers online, in UK size 7, which is what I am. But they are enormous - about two sizes too big. Has anyone else had this? It says US size 9, but they seem more like a UK 9. Is this some kind of mistake, or are they always weird? I really like them but now don't know what size to buy...

I think that US sizes are 2 or 2 and a half sizes bigger than UK sizes, so your pair should be right for you? I bought mine in UK size 5, which is what I am, and they fit fine! Maybe send them back then go into a shop to buy some so you can try them on first and get the size that fits you best?

Sounds a bit odd. I wear a UK 6 or 7 and always get my Converse in a UK 7/US 9. They always fit fine.

I agree with Lugsie - maybe go into a shop and try a couple of pairs for size?

I'm a UK 6.5 and Converse 7s fit me OK.
