What is the current (trendy) way to wear a scarf?

I am not really liking the round the neck once and then leave the 2 tails down the front/middle - on me at least!
I quite like the snood look - is it achievable with a scarf - without re tieing it all the time when it slips out. Maybe a brooch or safety pin?

Am looking for inspiration to save me spending a fortune on snoods!!!

Watching with interest! (clueless with scarvesWink).

and me!

What about the "through the loop" style? Halving the scarf end to end, putting it round your neck then pulling the loose ends through the loop end...does that make sense?

omydarlin · 30/08/2011 14:31

Liberty on facebook has a scarf tying app thing on the left hand side - may be worth haviing a look ??

SquongebobSparepants · 30/08/2011 14:35

gillybobs, i do the through the loop thing but put each end through the loop in a different direction, looks a bit different.

warmandwooly · 30/08/2011 14:35

Ooh i wear mine that way Gillybobs. As for a snood my friend knitted me one for a Christmas pressie and i love it. In my local TK Maxx they have some snood type things so if you want one on the cheap i suggest there.

TimeForCake · 30/08/2011 15:22

I do that Gilly and was hoping it was still trendy! As an extra (sorry op!) has anyone else been admiring Sue's scarves so far on the British bake off? Sooo pretty, especially the one from week 1. Wonder where they're from?

I think through the loop has had its day

I'm wearing my scarves LONG. Very LONG. And wrapped round many times

But not yet, not cold enough

TracyK · 30/08/2011 16:06

Ha - tis cold enough in Scotland today!!

What do you mean spongebob - in different directions?

I do do the loop sometimes too - but feel its not 'trendy' enough. I tried to make a snood today out of the scarf I was wearing - but going twice round my neck and then tied at the back of my neck - it wasn't 'loose' enough - looked like the collars you wear when you have a broken neck!

Will have a look at liberty - ta omydarlin.

just did a loop and then twisted it round to the back and it works like that.

I can't explain better than that! The 'normal' loop is a bit 'woolly scarf only' for me but essentially you double it, go to put both ends through the loop but only put one end through, then put the other end through the loop in the opposite direction, makes it a bit flatter than normal one.

I don't like just round the neck and down as I need a scarf to hide cleavage at times...

Love the link from orangeknickers (also love her scarf collection - McQ, LV, Missoni - sigh!!) Third from last is the snood you were looking for.
