I'm getting married in less than six weeks. I have the dress Monsoon and I'm thinking of wearing my hair in a low, loose bun at one side. I want to wear something in my hair, but I'm not sure what exactly. I quite like this flower here but it's £££. Has anyone got any ideas where I can find something similar for less money? I'm also open to other suggestions if you think they'd suit the dress more.
Thanks, Vizz.

beautiful dress, im sure if you look around some shops you could find something just as pretty as that flower for a fraction of the cost, maybe big department stores.

Hope your day is a lovely one

Thanks for the ideas so far. I'm going to work my way through them now. Any other ideas are welcome! It doesn't have to be a flower if anyone knows of any great combs/slides etc. Something that can be bought online would be great as I'm back teaching P/T after this week so Internet shopping would be easier.

I bought my flower from ebay for £10. There are lots of lovely ones on Etsy.

This lady made me some hairclips years ago, but I'd second looking on etsy - there's one here

I make birdcage veils - not plugging here at all and I am not mentioning my business name to anyone Wink but have you thought of one of those? They look so elegant and can incorporate a flower/feathers on top too...

Fantastic ideas. Thank you for all of your help. I've seen a few things I like now so I may order a couple and choose from there.
Love the pics of the 'Monsoon Brides' - we only got engaged a couple of months ago so no time for fittings and trawling shops but I love my Monsoon dress and it makes me feel wonderful Smile

Mrs Why oh why did you tell me about Glitzy Secrets?! I've fallen in love with half their stuff! I've got a head band and some earrings in my basket, which is pretty far removed from my original silk flower idea (still cheaper though)!!! Thanks all - I love MN!

Ooh, thanks for this, I'm a short-notice Monsoon bride pondering the same question. I'll watch with interest! And am also impressed with Glitzy Secrets -- I confess I had seen their name come up in my Google searches, but had dismissed them because the name sounds awful. They have some lovely stuff.

MrsAlwaysRight · 01/09/2011 20:23

Glad you've found some things you like Smile

Could you ask your florist about a fresh flower? Have a wonderful day!
