For an autumn cover up with a sleeveless dress, why not keep your outdoor coat on. That way if anyone tries to talk to you, you can say "soz, I was just leaving"

So what's so wrong with asking for fashion advice on the style and beauty forum? Is there some sort of subtext that newbies should be aware of? Have to say that some of the comments on here seem unnecessarily harsh and unwelcoming, especially since you don't know the context in which someone may be posting. Hope you've made yourselves feel good, because you've done the opposite to me.

Guilty as charged. I did ask what to wear with a dress last week (complete with non-working link) and some lovely people gave me great advice. I thought the Style and Beauty people liked rescuing people like me who haven't a clue.

I think it was just a clutch of v similar thread titles, this one made me lol and I have no clue about accessorising.

Surely the dress threads will die out now - wasn't it just the wedding season that had 2 or 3 seperate threads EVERY day!!! I still enjoyed reading them and looking at the links.
Now its got to be 'which winter boots/jacket' that will appear every 10 minutes!
