I want to treat myself to a pair of boots for the winter but hav'nt got a clue what to buy, would like them to be flat or flat(ish) ,black (or maybe brown) and calf length (top of calf). Also need to be able to buy in a 5.5.

Have you checked out the sample clearance boots? I got 2 pairs! Rubican in red and Rhone in brown! Very happy!

WayneKerr · 27/08/2011 11:00

Tracy - let us know what they're like. Am v tempted to buy. How roomy on the calf etc? I have wide feet size 7 or 7.5, so unsure whether to take a risk. Calves are on chunky side, too.

culturevulture · 27/08/2011 11:16

Are the Oxygen boots all calf length or are some knee length?

I was looking at the Usk but they look quite short

noddyholder · 27/08/2011 11:19

these Had a pair for work in the 80s and gave them to the charity shop when i went travelling Shock! Never found another pair that went with so many things and have spent £££££ trying

coolkat · 27/08/2011 13:18

Are Fly boots a bad thing, I have ordered some of the calf length ones in Chocolate but am thinking I may have dropped a clanger!

Every year I leave getting boots to late so thought I'd be early this year, just want for with leggings and jeans out of work.

Marne · 27/08/2011 14:36

I was looking at Fly boots yesterday (befor i bought oxygen boots), Amazon had a lot on offer (well, prices seemed lower than anywhere else).

Am hoping the oxygen ones will fit my wide feet, cant wait for them to get here (shame its bank holiday so will have to wait an extra day).

I'll report back when they arrive - I'll be gutted if they are too small! I'm definately an 8 and 2nd toe is longer than my big toe - so can't really wear anything if they are very straight across. Although they kind of look like Camel active ones I got last year and they are a very roomy 8!

I've still got a pair of Fly patent ones from last year - unworn - but hopefully will get wearing them this year.

TracyK · 13/09/2011 11:07

Just to report back.
The brown ones arrived and were slightly too small on the 2nd big toe, also not as long as I would have liked (mid calf and tight) and don't think I'd be able to tuck more than tights in - no jeans or leggings.
The Lilac ones never arrived (although have been charged for them!).
Asked for a returns form 2 or 3 times - got email back with no form attached. Am giving up and doing a returns without a form and will (hopefully) get a refund! So not v impressed with their customer service.

I posted mine back on Friday - so hopefully they will receive them today. I'm not expecting to get a refund without a fight though.
I'll check my paypal - maybe tomorrow and start ringing them on Thurs. I did phone them on the number on their delivery note and they did answer. So heres hoping I'm not down £120!!!!!

The guy did sound very reasonable when I spoke to him on the phone (not like a wide boy or anything) - and didn't seem bothered by the returns period. He say 'no problem'. But then did bugger all about it! grrr.

I've now been refunded for my brown boots I returned - still no lilac ones delivered - sent 3 emails to the guy asking for 2nd refund. Nothing - so have opened a dispute in paypal.
Bad customer service.

Prolesworth · 28/09/2011 23:36

Grrr. I eventually got an email from the bloke promising to process a refund, but no refund forthcoming and no reply to my chase-up email. They're rubbish aren't they?

TracyK · 29/09/2011 08:07

My refund did come through for my returned item - hopefully yours will too. Do you keep checking your paypal account?

Prolesworth · 03/10/2011 22:15

Glad to hear you got your refund Tracy - I got an email from the Oxygen bloke ten days ago saying he had received the returned items and would process my refund, but he still hasn't (I have been checking Paypal), and he hasn't replied to my email either Hmm I've just emailed again asking where my refund is.

I wouldn't recommend Oxygen to anyone - this is very poor :(

TracyK · 03/10/2011 23:03

Hiya Prolesworth - I instigated a dispute through paypal and have now got a full refund. He sent me a very apologetic email saying that they had been moving offices due to a fire and he had been without internet for 10 days or so.... hmmm... Maybe you should try the dispute thingy too.

Prolesworth · 03/10/2011 23:16

Thanks Tracy, I've just opened a dispute through Paypal as you suggested, so hopefully I'll get my money back soon!

Soups · 03/10/2011 23:19

I already have a couple of pairs of snow boots, for when it is really cold. One pair do double up as a casual just nasty dismal weather boots.

A few weeks ago I got some Hushpuppies long black boots, the kind that could be worn with jeans or a skirt for work. They're lined and amazingly comfy.
