I am so stupid. Have just remembered that we're going to an evening wedding reception tomorrow and I haven't given any thought at all about what to wear because I'd forgotten all about it! The invitation says 'Smart casual' whatever the flip that might mean.

Please chuck some ideas this way, if you'd be so kind! :) I'm hoping the best ideas will be things that I already have, so I don't have to spend any money.

nude tights, you can use the cape to break up the black, although if it's an evening do, you'll probably get quite hot dancing and it'll be discarded quite quickly! A bright necklace might be better.

Capey thing is one of those little clear chiffony things with tiny gold sequins - it's much nicer than it sounds and is just a little itty bitty thing so quite light. I've danced for hours in it before.

I don't possess such a thing as a 'bright necklace' - just gold or silver. I don't actually 'do' colour very much; it scares me. Blush

My legs aren't great by any stretch of the imagination but they look okay in nude tights as they are quite slim from the knees down anyway!

Thanks everyone. I think I'm sorted! It's chucking it down and freezing here at the moment - shall I top the outfit off with a cagoule (sp?) and balaclava? :)

Imagine if Dame Westwood made cagoules...

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 20/08/2011 17:34

:) Yup - they'd be tartan print, with giant orbs all over and a huge bustle at the back. They'd probably have holes over the norks as well.

Update - I wore the feather print dress, which was fine. The VW would have been far too 'sexy' compared to what everybody else was wearing (and my belly felt/looked fat in it, even with sucker-inner pants :( ). And there were about ten people in jeans, believe it or not!

Thnaks again for the help. :)
