frizzy hair, help needed :(

I have a lot of hair, its in mostly good condition but I really want it to be all swishy and shiny...does anyone have any advice? Also I have a lot of "baby hair" on the bits near my ears which sticks out all the time in a big frizzy mess and i hate it but have no idea how to tame it.

please help!!!

Have you tried John Frieda range?? I have a mass of curly hair and it helps. Also find morrocan oil works on mine...but its not the price of John Frieda!

I particularly recommend John frieda's secret agent finishing creme. Even when I put my hair up it has a frizzy halo and I use this to give it a really shiny sleek finish.

I recommend morrocan oil too. It's pricey but you only need a small amount and it's the only thing that's ever made a difference to my hair. I have tried John frieda frizz ease several times but found it made my hair greasy (prob used too much, but if used less it made no difference).

Salon near me does a tteatment like the opposite of a perm, makes your hair permanently sleek and smooth.
I love all frizz-ease products by John Frieda. The serum is their classic product. Put it on wet hair and blow dry. Smile

sorry to rain on the frizz ease parade but I hate it - makes my hair more, not less, fly-away and fuzzy. If it doesn't work for you OP I agree with laurz: try the Curly Girl routine, or at least follow some of their tips (esp avoiding silicone laden products such as frizz ease!) - there's many a thread on here too.

But I know frizz ease works for some people.

I also hate the John Frieda stuff - makes my hair greasy too.

I'm another Moroccan oil convert, I use it every time I wash my hair. Dry then use Toni & Guy finishing spray. I've gone from frizz ball to the (most of the time except very humid weather) sleek hair I've always wanted.

I also use the spray on dd to get rid of tangles - smells lovely and is fab stuff (would probably recommend this over the oil).

I have tonnes of thick, curly frizzy hair and I have calmed it down to 'normal' hair with a treatment called a Brazilian blow-dry or keratin blow dry. It isn't cheap but it saves me so much time blow drying and I don't have to worry about damp weather turning my head into a frizzball.

It is good for your hair and last about 3 months (sometimes longer, it depends on how often you wash it and whether you go swimming a lot).

I also use the Brazilian Blow treatment on my super fizzy hair. I love it. It is expensive though so I have started to do it myself! You can buy the stuff on eBay ( got my last lot for £20).

All you do is wash your hair with the special shampoo, dry it so it's about 80% dry and the brush in the treatment, it's just like home colouring kits! Once it's in you blow dry as straight as you can get it, then use straighteners (going over a small section of hair at least 10 times). After that your meant to leave it down, no hair bands or clips, for 3 days. However the one I got online was a 24 hr one, although I left it a little longer!

End result is so worth it though smooth, shiny hair!

That is really cheap LimeJelly, did it have formaldehyde in it?

I pay £60 per hour for my treatment and it usually takes about 3 hours Shock but it lasts really well, 3 -4 months now I have had it done a few times. Can I ask which ebay store you got it from?

I gave up on John Frieda (made my haur greasy too) but have had success lately with Toni & Guy serum. Put it on soaking wet hair, I don't blow dry as no time but it dries ok and then I add some finishing creme later. You may be able to get trial sizes of the serums to try out?

To the Brazilian Blow dry converts - I don't understand how it works? I wash my hair every day, would I need to use any products after getting the treatment? And it would still work even tho I have to wash my hair so much?

oooh thanks for all the advice! I'm going to give john frieda a try and see how that works but im also really tempted by this brazilian blow dry! can it be used on straight hair? same questions as fartmeister.
