Ok, I'll cut to the chase but are there some scary models in this or what?

They look really pissed off. It's making me not want to buy some frankly very ordinary stuff anyway. But the models. I'm not getting it at all.

What are they trying to do?

Totally agree I received the catalogue a couple of days ago and thought the same thing.

GloriaVanderbilt · 15/08/2011 15:29

Phew, I thought it might just be me. It's odd isn't it.

I really like seeing models older than me for a change-and I love that model's hair.Agree it all looks rather stern, but that is sort of their look isn't it? Rather melancholy looking girls wafting about in distressed rural locations.

globex · 15/08/2011 17:39

Agree hellymelly.. I like seeing more interesting models - and they still have the usual fey red head with a sheaf of wheat over one shoulder so not too much of a departure..

madammecholet · 15/08/2011 17:45

my personal fav here, shame because it totally detracts from the outfit. Stylist should be sacked.

I don't like toast stuff, too plain and bland for £££....

GloriaVanderbilt · 15/08/2011 17:47

Well yes, I don't know and don't want to be horrible but is that actual hair? Or is it dyed to look like that?

I'm a bit disturbed by how evil she istrying to look

I honestly don't mind them being older. The other older woman is really old and she's beautiful.

really very beautiful woman

clicked on the link, and I just knew the older woman would be the same one that is in the Guardian Weekend every flipping week.

Surely there must be some other beatiful older women out there.

GloriaVanderbilt · 15/08/2011 17:56

Well I hate to say it but the one with the scary hair isn't a patch on her.

I keep staring at it. I can't work it out, I've never SEEN hair like that. It looks like you couldn't put a comb through it.

Oh how I love that dress, tights, cardi combo in that picture, Gloria. And yes, she's gorgeous.

Popbiscuit · 15/08/2011 17:59

The 2nd picture down in your link, I mean.

higgle · 15/08/2011 18:32

I saw the clothes for real in the Bath shop last week. The jumper with buttons on both shoulders is nice but the rest is so very plain. It is all ruinously expensive.

Popbiscuit · 15/08/2011 18:46

Very plain but they look so comfy and versatile. Sadly, WAY out of my budget. Just looked at the price of that dress and cardigan and blanched.

higgle · 15/08/2011 20:38

Well, everything comes to he who waits, they always have a very good sale.

FrancesFarmer · 15/08/2011 20:44

I love Toast although they are a bit pretentious and yes, their sale is brilliant. I got some great bargains in their summer sale this year.
