hairdryer advice, parlux? or?

having BHD's lately. thought a good dryer may help.Any advice? recommendations?

Philips pro volume recommended by which is much cheaper £28 on amazon don't know if it's any good tho?

parlux compact is life changing!!

Olivetti what makes the Parlux so good? and is the compact version better than the standard Parlux ?

I LOVE my Parlux. I have a lot of long thick hair and it cut the drying time down by about two thirds, maybe more. I wash my hair every other day and blow dry it straight so I put it through its paces. Given this I'm quite hard on my hairdryers and I used to kill a hairdryer every year and I've had my parlux for several years already.

Also I didn't need to use my GHD's too often after getting the Parlux so saved time there and I think less (heat) damage as a result also. I managed to get a trade price online.

I haven't tried the standard one, as I wanted something light for travelling. I was a bit worried the compact wouldn't do the drying trick, but it is completely amazing. I had a reasonable hairdryer before (Tresemmé), but I hated drying my hair because although it is fine, there is loads of it. It's just on my shoulders, but it used to take about 15 minutes just to get it dry and looking ok, and I have to wash it every morning. I have a young baby, so time is precious. Bring on the parlux. It's just really forceful, and I can now dry my hair in....wait for it... 4 MINUTES, and it looks good enough to go out. Obviously can spend a bit longer doing a more careful blow dry for special occasions, but a fast dry with the compact gets hair looking full and tidy. It's going to be a massive help when I go back to work.

Parlux here too... Also, long, thick but fine-ish hair.

And, they last ages.

My Parlux is about 9 years old now. I have masses of hair (only shoulder length buts lots and lots of hair...every hairdresser I've ever seen has commented on just how much hair I have). The Parlux dries it in under 10 minutes. I'm hoping it doesn't die anytime soon but if it does, I'll replace it with another Parlux.

Very interested in the compact version...I've never met a travel hairdrier yet that has been worth the luggage space. This could just change my life....

I was going to buy a Parlux but my hairdresser advised against it (for the ££). Only if you have lots of hair which normally takes ages to dry would it prove worthwhile - which I don't.

I know, I thought the compact one might be rubbish, as I agree - travel hairdryers are crap beyond belief. But I took a risk and got one anyway, and I swear to you, it is amazing.

What's so great about the Parlux? Is it the power? I can see 3800 ones on Amazon that are cheaper than the Parlux but get equally glowing reviews.

It's probably a combination of the power and the 'build' (like a car). There are other perfectly good hairdryers but I honestly think they're the best.

Which models do you all have? Are you all using the Compact? I have loads of hair too and it takes forever to dry. Definitely tempted.

Hi Count, Mine is a few years old and a Parlux 3200 Compact. Doesn't look very compact mind, not that light either, definitely doesn't look like a travel one.

I'm sure when I got it, it had been taking me about an hour to dry my hair straight and it it went to just 15 mins, full speed/high heat as always! If you have loads of hair and little time then you will love it.

I've got an ETI hairdryer, only cheap from ebay. It is the business, I've also got blowdrying my very thick unruly hair down to about 15 minutes. Don't know about the durability but I suppose it's not being used all day like in a salon. I only bought it so I could put a professional Hairtools diffuser on it but it is really very good. I expect the difference is between any salon dryer and a "domestic" one which seem to be much less powerful even the ones that market themselves as "professional".

is it juat about speed drying or the results- ? i dont really have an issue with how long it takes.

do parlux do an ionic one?
