Winter boots - are these comfort over style?

Ok, I tried these on today as I need new brown boots. They looked nice enough, but by golly, they were monstrously comfortable! Are they stylish enough for with dresses and jeans? Or am I letting the bouncy comfort rule my head?

I would have preferred them to be flat, but they're not bad tbh.

goinnowhere · 10/08/2011 15:49

I do want some height, as I prefer it with dresses. I have flat boots already. I was jumping around in the shop, they were so bouncy Grin

I think they look great and if they"re comfy too, I want some!

dexter73 · 10/08/2011 16:02

I think they look good too.

jenrendo · 10/08/2011 16:03

Oooh I'm away to buy some. They look lovely :)

OracleInaCoracle · 10/08/2011 16:05

Oooh, I LURVE them. Buy, buy, buy!

goinnowhere · 10/08/2011 16:58

Good. I'm glad. Don't all go and buy size 6 before me though. Smile

Mmmm I don't like the heel much but other than that, if you like them - buy them! Oh and M&S boots tend to come up v big on the calves, I've found - so if you are slim of calf, I'd avoid.

aftereight · 10/08/2011 17:04

I bought some in black at the weekend Grin
They are great everyday boots imo, but I'm still on the lookout for some smarter, shinier boots, too.

cyb · 10/08/2011 17:09

Excuse me, Cyb's annual winter boot surgery doesnt open until August 30th

But as you have already found these, I suppose I can let you order them Grin

neuroticmumof3 · 10/08/2011 17:10

I think they're lush.

OracleInaCoracle · 10/08/2011 17:10

Skinny calved/ankled size 2 here. I've got no chance with them.

OracleInaCoracle · 10/08/2011 17:13

Actually, anyone seen owt similar for me? Short arse, long legs, skinny bowed calves and teensy ankle wear a size 2 and am poor, so under £50

Those are the boots I have been looking at! They dont have them in my local m&s so would have to go to the bigger one in town. Was also worried they were a wee bit clumpy as I plan on wearing a lot of tea dresses, chunky cardis and opaques come autumn?. What colour are you going for?

goinnowhere · 10/08/2011 18:05

I think they will be fine with dresses actually. Don't look that chunky on. I am going for brown, as I am sorted for black but my trusty brown ones have gone at last! Honestly, I felt I could walk for miles in them! I'd have perhaps preferred a more camelly colour, but comfort wins.

I'm going to wear them with my nice new cord pinafore dress thingy from Boden. Lovely Autumn lovliness!

goinnowhere · 10/08/2011 20:57

I know - gotta love autumn! Am spending hours planning hourglass friendly outfits!

Please can someone try and link to the original boots again for me please. I've tried to open OP link and it says I am forbidden !

jenrendo · 10/08/2011 21:32

www.marksandspencer.com/Footglove-Leather-Buckle-Wedge-Boots/dp/B0052PU4TA?ie=UTF8
hope this works. I can still see them with the original link.

goinnowhere · 10/08/2011 22:58

Imagine being forbidden from M and S! You must have done something terrible Grin

culturevulture · 11/08/2011 11:20

Thanks for putting up the link, I can see them now and quite like them too.

Not sure what I have done to M & S Grin
