my threaded eyebrows now have scabs and are sore

I had my eyebrows threaded on thursday, it was very painful and i was left very red, when i got home i noticed a few of small dots of blood, yesterday they felt bruised and swollen and today i have scabs - just aswell i don't need to leave the house.

This is the third time i've had them threaded by the same lady, never had any pain before and didn't even go red....i mentioned when she was doing it that it was very painful and she just laughed and said it can be at different times of the month. Also they are slightly uneven but i'm spending lots of time looking in the mirror feeling sorry for myself.

Should i go back and complain? theres no lasting damage and i certainly won't get them done again, it may only be £10 but its not a good result. I think the lady needs to be aware of whats happened really. Or is it just down to my body and time of the month and not her fault? Opinions please.....

You poor thing - I hate threading! It sounds like she got too close to your skin. I once had one tiny dot as you describe and it stung when she put the stuff on afterwards, because she had broken the skin albeit in a very tiny spot.

I don't think it has anything to do with time of the month, whether you go back is up to you!

Er surely scabs is wrong? I would go back and complain to the manager

I agree, that's not normal; there are good threaders and not-so-good ones. The good ones would never draw blood.

Your skin may be a bit more sensitive just before/during your period, so just like waxing, I would never have it done then. Or at least take paracetamol beforehand.

That is hugely expensive for threading of brows.

If you have seen other threads about threading past and present you will see that most people are paying on average £3.50.

The most that should happen is that you go 'Ow!!' in you head for a second and then it's done. A bit of cream is put on and jobs a good un!!

I paid £6 and thought I was getting a good deal but my friend goes to an Indian threading shop in a town with a large Indian population who charge around the £3.50 mark. However there is nothing like that around here that I know of.
