Everytime I go to the hairdresser they're all aged around 21.... which is fine but I want to know where are all the middle aged hairdressers?

Second question - is £60 too much to pay for a hair cut. (Have been recommended a different hairdresser but the price seems a bit Shock

TIA

i prefer older hairdressers bu they are hard to find here unless you count granny hairdressers

older male hairdressers seem less rare

There is an island where they get sent. Sort of like "Lesbos" but not. They all have great hair and zippy cars. But all the men are gay. If it weren't for that, I'd go.

they own the salons and employ the youngsters to do the work for them Smile

I think the goal is to have your own salon or teach the next generation. Some I know chose the latter. Smile

Or.. there is a hairdressers near my street which seems to be used mainly by older ladies, the hairdressers are middle aged rather than young uns and whenever I go by are sat in an empty shop drinking tea. It's been there years but I don't understand how it stays open. Confused

Think they all go mobile.
although am loving the idea of the island of retired hairdressers

I'm in the Thames Valley area and £38 - £48 seems to be the going rate for the middle qualified hairdressers at a salon. £60 would be about right for the head stylist.

It's true that you see more older male hairdressers than female in the bigger salons. In small town places, there are more older female hairdressers.

Something I've noticed is that although these older male stylists have to come from somewhere, it is very rare to see male trainees working in salons. I have only ever been in one that had shampoo boys as well as shampoo girls.
