Shiny face help

I'm looking for something to wear under foundation to control oil shine on my face. I currently use a pore minimiser from Clinique, which is OK but fairly expensive and I'm wondering if there's anything better.

Or do I just need to accept that I need to blot regularly and put up with it?

Clinique pore minimiser made my skin soooo spotty.

I use neutrogena face wash, and have noticed a difference after a week. Also those nose blackhead stripping things.

And for the grand finale, smashbox photofinish primer. Pricy, but works, and mine has lasted nearly a year. I use it a couple of times a week, and you only need a dot.

Ooo I second smashbox photofinish primer. I also swear by mac blot powder for on top of foundation, helps keep my skin matte when I'm at work all day!

Thank you! I use a Johnson and Johnson face wash, which is probably for teenagers even though I'm way past those days. I probably don't use the best moisturiser for my skin type, but as I'm also aging I think it's hard to manage both problems things.

I think my foundation is OK - it's a powder/cream one and doesn't add to the oil. I actually remain shine free until late morning/lunch time, which is fairly good I think (given that I have quite greasy skin).

I will have to try that smashbox one - sounds good.

I have greasy skin but would highly recommend Stila's oil-free tinted moisturiser (a real bargain at about £5!) I have used the Clarins one for years & was at the point of despair with always having a shiny face, literally within a couple of hours of applying it, but since switching to the Stila one I still have a pretty shine-free face at bedtime! Especially pleasing as it's summer!

I love benefit's 'porefessional', gives such a smooth finish, minimises pores and keeps me shine free! ( am hoping the benefit people read this and send me a tube to say thanks - cos it isn't cheap!)

I have oily skin and want to second the stila oil-free tinted moisturiser, it is fantastic!! Exactly as sparkle says. I've worn it with the benefit pore refiner and it works well, but happy to wear the stila product on its own spf 30 too - what more do you want?!

I have oily but dehydrated skin and Korres Yoghurt moisturiser is brilliant, mattifies the skin but not drying.

I also use Tesco oil-fee foundation.

I used to have the shiniest skin ever. I tried absolutely everything oli-free, oil-control, mattifying - you name it. The creams and lotions just dried my face out and made it produce even more oil and all the powders and foundations just masked the problem.

It's brilliant - no shine, but does not dry your skin out. They also have trial kits.
