Recently somebody on here recommended Gabor as somewhere that I may get some reasonably decent looking but comfortable shoes. Whoever you were - I think you were right! I bought some today and whilst so far they have only been worn indoors I am v impressed indeed.

They are not the height of fashion but they are pretty good looking (certainly better than Fitflops and most of the stuff in Clarks) and they feel lovely and squidgy. Also (and this is a v good sign) neither of my teens have pulled 'Wtf' faces at them. SO thank you MN! :)

I got my first pair of Gabor in Germany 11 yrs ago and i was 29. Not the biggest follower of fashion, but i have never felt old in my boots :)

Probably the only thing that annoys me a little about them is the fact they never wear out! So you get bored of them and they just wont give up the ghost.

Like the bright red patent Hmmsleep!

Gabor shoes may be comfy but they are horrible! Sequin fitflops all the way.

Nooooo Nenn that's just it although there are many awful designs, there are a few which are both comfortable and lovely. My beigy pink ballerinas are soo lovely.

But my Mum wears them! I can only imagine what my daughter would say!

Well I just bought a pair of Gabor's yesterday and they are rather nice and very comfy. I wonder what winter shoes they do?

As for stylish, I'm not really a stylish person for me it is comfort first. I usually wear trainers or Merrell walking sandals, so these seem very smart to me!

Thank you Mytholmroyd, they were lovely, now they're all a bit bubbly and I'm sure they shrank in the wash!

I have never ever found a toe post comfortable Nenn and gave up trying years ago. I mustn't have the right feet and am baffled by anyone who does find them comfortable for general walking. I associate them with hooked claw like toes and callouses - now that's horrid!

Am interested to know why care what your daughter thinks about what you wear? I have three DD and never take them into account when buying my clothes. They have never refused to go anywhere with me yet!
