Best pore minimiser?

It needs to be really, really good. My face resembles the moon atm. Getting new glasses was not a good idea. It's nice to be able to see MN better, but looking in the mirror, was a shock to say the least.

A decent black head scrub or similar would be good too. I have bought that L'Oreal one for now, the one that promises visible results from day one . It lies.

I believe that in terms of eliminating you need to go down the route of glycolic peels. Pores are cleaner so look smaller. And in terms of covering up you cant beat mineral makeup.

Try everyday minerals available on cocktail cosmetics or lily lolo.

I have some Clinique cement stuff which is good around nose, but not sure if would work over whole face (it's a little tube, not the serum) ...try some at their counter?

I had good results with the Clinique one too. Worked on my cheeks and chin.

If you go to a sk:n clinic they give you a free assessment and then a list of products suited best to your skin. I had massive pores from really bad acne as a teenager so I went to visit them asking for a skin peel. They were really good and told me I didn't need one and advised me to use 2 different facewashes, one am one pm. Within 4 weeks they had started to shrink! Definitely worth a trip, even if you don't buy anything!

Clinique 7 day scrub and Soap and Glory Scrub Your Nose in it are the best facial exfoiliators I have ever tried (use about twice a week). Soap and Glory also has a good pore minimising face mask to use weekly. On a daily basis Benefit has a pore minimising primer to use under foundation or to wear on its own called The Pore Fessional. It's new out and has gotten great reviews. I've recently started using it under my foundation and am impressed so far.

I've been reading about the Benefit one. There are no Sk:n clinics in my town and I don't drive. There is a new beauty place that has just opened and a Dermatalogical place.

I use the Benefit POREfessional one, and it's great. I used to use the Clinique one, which I liked too, but the Benefit one has a smoother texture and is immediately invisible (as are the pores), making it better for covering areas beyond the nose and chin.

Microdermabrasion facials every 4-6 weeks for a period of time will help dramatically too.

A friend recently lent me Smashbox Photo Finish which was amazing at covering them up before using makeup but you're probably like me and prefer them to actually go away.

Yes I want them to actually go away, but hiding them will do untill they do go away. I will get the Benefit one I think and I will locate somewhere that does microdermabrasion.

Great question - I could keep my keys in mine!

I've tried Clinique and didn't get on with it.
Will try the Benefit one next and off to the skin clinic I go I reckon

I've tried lots and lots of things, from very cheap to quite pricey and my favourite at the moment is a No7 purifying mask. It leaves pores super clean and leaves a matt finish. I also like to smooth on Benefit Dr feel good before make up. Olay do a wrinkle filler thing that is also pretty good for disguising large pores.

Microdermabrasion makes a huge difference for me.

Oil cleansing sorted me out. I used to have very oily skin with big open pores and blackheads all over my nose. Now crystal clear smooth skin.

Even Helena christensen now has large pores, i noticed, when she was on the cover of a mag last week.

it must be an age thing? I quite like the Dermalogica scrub, but it isn't magic...

if it helps, it's the sort of thing men would never notice in a million years

You don't have to buy anything from the clinic. I wanted a £400 course of skin peels but they sent me away with an £8 face wash that was amazing so they didn't rip me off!

Slight hijack but if one were considering microdermabrasion, how can you tell if the therapist is any good and isn't going to rip the top ten layers of your skin off?! I go to amazing spa but they don't do it (they only use Dermalogica and Elemis products).

Any one know of a good place in London or St Albans areas?

Again I use the sk:n clinic for microdermabrasion, I used to go once a month until I found out I was pregnant and then they don't let you go, just to be on the safe side. It's £110 for 3 sessions but they've got loads of different offers on so it's usually cheaper. I don't work for them honest, it's just in the last 10 years after suffering from horrendous acne from the age of 13 it's the only place that's made a real difference to me!

If the rest of me looked like Helena Christensen I wouldn't mind large pores. Unfortunately I do not look like Helena Christensen and given that I am not even 30 yet I would hope it's not age . I am booking myself an appointment with the only beauty spa in town that does Microdermabrasion. How many sessions do you need and how often?

I am also investing in some Benefit when I find a bloody shop that stocks it in this stoopid little town. Will spas have it or will I need to order online?

In my experience they tell you at your appointment depending on what they think of your skin how often you should have it done. Some people have it once every 1-2 weeks to start with and then have 1-2 months just to maintain it. Personally I went every month (ish) as I hadn't got that sort of money to be spending every week.

As far as benefit stuff goes there's no harm in looking round before going on line, they sell it in the beauty part of my local hair salon so might have it in your town! Good luck with your search!

Well there are benefits to living in tiny town. Things are much cheaper . Our local spa are half price compared to Sk:n.

For £55 a session they do a microdermabrasion with LED light therapy and liquid oxygen treatment. I might treat myself to that a few times a year, but mainly stick with the normal one which is £110 for 6 sessions or £27 per session.

I know a good therapist in the Edinburgh area that comes to your house (if there are a few of you) and does microdermabrasion if that helps anyone PM me
