Boden shoes/boots - how accurate is the sizing?

Hi ladies,
Sorry if this has been asked before - I have very skinny calves and have searched high and low for boots that don't flap around my legs. Apparently some of Boden's new season boots are quite slim (have just been boring one of their customer service assistants on the phone Wink Blush) but she didn't know whether the shoe sizes came up large or small ... I am a UK size 4.5 and have no idea whether the Boden 4 or 5 would fit ... and I can't find any feeback on the website. Help! Thank you.

Have you ruled out duo boots? They come in calf width fittings.........

RockOnMrs · 30/07/2011 15:36

Ooh that was quick, thanks for replying! No, I haven't ruled out duo boots - they look great - but they don't have any of the styles I like in my size at the moment!!! Might have to register for their email updates if all else fails. Or take a trip to Bath to buy some in person - will book DH for a full day's babysitting Wink

I would, with the highest heels I had to go up 1cm in in calf width and I'm 2.5-3cm and def a size 3 with them.

Boden shoes are come up small and narrow, I can fit an ordinary 8 everywhere else, but can not ram my hooves into Boden's biggest size.

polyhymnia · 30/07/2011 15:48

Same here - I'm a 41 everywhere else, but always order 42 in Boden.

apple99 · 30/07/2011 16:51

Small and narrow, I have tried sandals and boots from Boden and always to small. I am a size 8 and can't fit into Boden size 42.

RockOnMrs · 30/07/2011 19:59

Ah. OK. I guess it won't be Boden for me then!

Thanks ladies.

They come up small IME. I usually size up one size.

BikeRunSki · 30/07/2011 21:08

Rock on, the legs on the boots tend to be very narrow, why don;t you get some 5s and see?

Mumelie · 31/07/2011 10:37

I'm a 4.5 - 5 and have to buy a 6 in Boden, shoes and boots, they are just tiny.

GraduallyGoingInsane · 31/07/2011 17:24

The Johnny B range seems to come up bigger - my DD1 is a size 3.5, and the ankle boots in a 36 (3), fit her perfectly with space for socks. Similarly, DD4 has some Mini Boden ballet flats in a size 28, and she is usually a size 28 or 29, depending on the shoe.

I've never bought boots from the adult section though.

I have one foot size 5 and the other 5.5 so I invariably have to either risk too small (size 5) or too big (size 6).

It's a subjective question I know but if anyone else happens to also be a 5 or better still 5.5 I'm interested to know which Boden boot size you go for.

Thankyou!
