What's the dress code at christenings?

Obviously the baby will be in a gown of sorts! Grin

I've not been to a christening for donkeys years and have one this Sunday. Am I right in thinking that it's not quite as formal as a wedding but I should still make a bit of an effort? Am thinking if wearing navy linen trousers and a matelot top but would that be too casual?

Yes, I'd describe it as a notch or two down from a wedding. If you're not a godparent then I think what you describe is fine (possibly also if you are a godparent, but that would depend).

I think you've summed it up pretty well - if your top and trousers match and you've brushed your hair, you'll be fine.

Hmm brushed hair might be a stretch too far... Grin
