hi, I just wanted any advice really. Been using clinique products for quite some time now, but keep getting told shouldn't really use clinique products as they contain too much alcohol.

Which brands do you use?

What's your budget, skin type, product wish list?

Babymay · 23/07/2011 23:39

Hi groak, thanks for asking. My skin type is combination, prone to the occasional spot.

Looking to slowly change all products from cleansers, toners, moisturisers, face wash, eye creams etc.

Budget around similar to clinique prices

Well, I have combination skin and have found simple to be really goods, esp the day face cream with the spf, however can't fault clarins toner for combination skin and their eye cream, but the moisturiser (which didn't seem to have an spf) was way too rich (even in a tiny amount) and brought me out in spots!

am looking to start trying the oil cleansing that gets mentioned on here as people are saying it has been leaving their skin looking fab...

clarins beauty flash balm as a pick me up if you don't want to wear foundation is good too

Babymay · 23/07/2011 23:47

Thanks groan, I'll give them a go

I have combination skin too. Tried many brands like Clinique, Clarins, Elemis. The one I've stuck with the longest is Liz earle. Love cleanse and polish product and the light moisturiser is good which I add serum to eye area. Quite convinced though nothing will prevent my skin being combinational and prone to spots though.

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/07/2011 09:06

YY to liz earle it's amazing the change it's made to my skin I was using clinique too.

LuckyMrsT · 24/07/2011 09:39

If you're happy with Clinique why stop? Alcohol in products isn't necessarily bad. I'm sure the Clinique staff can tell you why it's there but be careful of listening to what people say if it's not causing you any trouble.

Obviously if you just fancy a change then go for it. I'd go and pick up lots of samples. I've also heard great things about Liz Earle but not tried it. I'm tempted by Dermalogica after what I've read on here.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 24/07/2011 10:01

Elemis or Dermalogica are both good for my skin. But I have a La Roche zPosey moisturiser at the moment from Boots which is also nice. I have combi skin.
