I have naturally brown, ashy hair - very flat and dull and I hate it. I've beenhaving caramel-blonde highlights put in but can't afford the upkeep anymore (my roots show really badly so need doing quite often). I mentioned this it my hairdresser and she said that what they've been doing a lot of lately, for people who can't afford regular root-maintenance, is to have the highlights underneath and a natural colour on top. That way, the regrowth won't show nearly as badly, because all the blond is underneath. Because my hairstyle is a shortish, choppy one, like this she says the highlights will show because of all the flicks I have.
I'm sure she knows what she's talking about but I'm just not sure I can picture it... what do we think?
