Personal shopping in Manchester?

I will be visiting the UK in August and I really really need to buy some clothes. Unfortunately I'm not very good at it, which is why I have an old run-down wardrobe and really really need to buy a few things! I have also been a SAHM for a number of years and have been living in jeans and Ts.

I have a new job and I need a small collection of separates, including a jacket, that work well together for wearing to the office. I'm thinking of trying a personal shopper at either John Lewis or Selfridges - I think both stores are at the Trafford Centre which is relatively easy to get to. I've not lived in the UK for a number of years now so I've no idea which store would be best for me. I would like to find classic clothes but not too middle-aged (despite being middle-aged!) and my budget is £750. I'm average height, average build but with a large backside and thunder thighs!

Could anyone give me a recommendation for where to go?? Thank you!

All of the major dept stores have personnel shoppers. I would go for Rackhams/ House of Fraser, Debenhams or John Lewis in that order. Good luck

Thanks! I hadn't thought of House of Fraser.
