HELP! What top do I put with this?

Got some black culotte type things (quite wide at bottom), wearing them with black suede wedge boots but stuck as to what I put on top? Want it to look quite dressy I think.

Any ideas? Anyone seen anything nice in the shops?

Don't want black! TIA

There are lots of turquoise tops in at the mo which would look lovely with black.

What sort of thing do you want? Fitted, loose, jumper, long or shortsleeved???

compo · 28/11/2005 19:25

silk camisole top and sequinned bolero is the fashion at the moment

compo · 28/11/2005 19:28

see here for culotte outfit

compo · 28/11/2005 19:29

and another one

thanks compo and collision. Not showing tops of my arms so a little bolero thingy would be good - actually if I can bothered to look in my wardrobe I've got a few in there, but none of them 'look quite right' IFYKWIM!!! Excuse for a bit of retail therapy I think.

A little capelet I think.... perhaps not too flimsy, there are some very cute velvet or fake fur things around (have I made it sound just horrible?! ). Not at all sure I can find a photo to illustrate! They do cover up the tops of the arms nicely (speaking from experience and recent retail therapy...!)

Merlin · 28/11/2005 19:48

velvet sounds nice orangina - where have you seen those?

warehouse is where i bought mine.... but i think they are all over the place.... you could go for black, but wear something with a little colour under it.... otherwise, try topshop, zara, mango... where are you merlin?

orangina · 28/11/2005 19:57

otherwise the other things that i have seen that look lovely are these chinese style kimono wrap tops (topshop again i think). haven't tried one on though, so don't know if they look like cr*p though (the wrap thing looks quite forgiving and so do the drapey sleeves, have no idea if you are after forgiving though! )

orangina · 28/11/2005 19:59

ooh, look what i've seen (ignore the price, do you like the look? i can see it with wedgey boots....)...
here we go!

Merlin · 28/11/2005 21:38

orangina that is beautiful! Will have a look in ttopshop for something a tad cheaper!!!

It is gorgeous isn't it? Topshop will definitely do SOMETHING within a reasonable price range, I'm sure! (BTW, I love how net a porter do a christmas wish list for those of us who have friends and family wishing to spend £££s on our presents... if only! )
