babyliss big hair, anyone used it? is it any good?

hi, have heard good reviews about this gadget. apparantly its a heated roller brush which is meant to make blow drying hair easier. meant to cut out the struggle with round brush and hairdryer. sounds good but is around £45 so wondered if anyone had tried it who could recomend? before spending my money i mean!

I bought one....and sold it again within a week :). It got great reviews and some people I know swear by it, but it didnt suit my hair at all. I just found it made my hair frizzy and killed the shine, I get better results with my straightener and hair dryer.

I read great reviews and it sounds perfect for what I need (volumising) but looking at the size of the barrel of it I think it's too big for shorter hair.

Yes any shorter than longer jaw length and it woudlnt work

love it, have hair just longer than chin length and it is perfect. Curls under the bottom, neatens it al up, and all onehanded so I can parent tweet with the other hand

Does is give volume AT THE ROOT?

Love it in the sense that it makes my hair look fab - BUT - it doesn't hold the style for long at all, and if I go outside, forget it...

I use Moroccan oil to style it and suspect MO is just a giant, expensive swizz. What do other people use, and do you find that it holds the style for a decent leng of time?

I couldn't get on with it at all. I sold mine on e bay.

It is all I use now. I recently went back to my old method (standard hairdryer and vented brush) and wasn't able to get nearly as much volume. As well as being more volumous (is that a word?!), my hair is also much smoother and shinier and generally 'done' IYKWIM.

I have experimented with different ways of using it and I get the best results if I blow dry hair with standard dryer to about 80-90% dry then add mousse then use BBH. The dryer your hair when you use it the more volume you will get, its hard to get volume if you do it on wet hair. Also would take an age.

Took a bit of practice but I love mine. Gives lift at roots if you curl, hold and release.

I've got naturally curly fine hair and I used it like some of the other posters have said - blow dried with hair dryer so it was almost dry and then used it to give lift and volume. I really liked it as if I am going out I would usually straighten the life out of my poor hair with the ghd's as I don't really know what else to do with it but it always looks pretty flat and lifeless when I do that. I found the Babyliss whilst not completely straightening my hair, made it look more like it had a wave and some body and had been styled. Like some of the others said though I found it hard to hold the style although I will definitely try putting mousse on. Its also really good at doing a side fringe. Mine is normally straightened as I can't do that thing with the massive hairbrush and hairdryer that the hairdressers do but the Babyliss straightens it for me and gives it that bit of lift. My mum has one too and has the curliest hair you hve ever seen in your life and does the same as me and it looks lovely on her hair.

Agree that I get best results if my hair is nearly dried.

I dry my hair upside down with a root lift product then finish off with the Big Hair it is so quick to do.

Love mine, much less faffing than drying and straightening, my hair is now "done" rather than just sitting there on top of my head
