I'm an average 12 so looking at the MEDIUM but want to be sure before paying exorbitant P&P!!

Any tips?

I think the sizing's pretty true. I've just bought one in the sale, got a small and am an 8-10 so I reckon a medium should be fine for you. I do find I need spanx/some other kind of smoothing underwear as they do show every little lump and bump even though I am really slim. HTH

Ambernj1 · 17/07/2011 12:35

Just having to return the Medium I ordered to NAP as it is way too big - I had a baby 9 days ago so definitely carrying a bit of extra chunk - usually a 10, but probably a 12 ATM... order both sizes if finances allow and return one?

faustina · 17/07/2011 14:16

I ordered both sizes and found them to be on the generous side. Kept Xsmall and sent back the small. NAP is expensive for shipping, but it's the same however much you buy, and returns are free. which one are you getting?

CQrrrneee · 17/07/2011 14:17

please tell us where it is after you've ordered!

faustina · 17/07/2011 14:34

cocosa ia doing anglomania tomorrow I think, but they only have bigger sizes

OhCobblers · 17/07/2011 14:38

Oh so now i'm in a quandry!!
I'm normally a "slim ish" 12 but carrying a few extra pounds that i've been working on losing so i don't feel like i'm getting a "true" fit in anything at the moment.

I compared VW sizes to an M&S size 12 for measurements and its a little bizarre but looks ok on the waist so might be fine.

however, the real dilemma is that its a black dress which i really don't need but feel the need to have as i've always wanted an Anglomania dress, but the one i absolutely love is £350 which i cannot afford.

Do i leave the black one for now and save the money to put towards the one i really want, in the hope that one of these days it will be in the sale??

Confused

if it's the fulfillment dress, the front is draped and loose - only close fitting from the bum down

which one do you really want? look on cocosa and see if they're doing it - if you aren't a member tell me the name and I'll look

MitchiestInge · 17/07/2011 15:08

Am quite chunky but need small in Anglomania dress, only have one (purple drapey jersey one) it's quite flattering except bottom looks huge but it will anyway because it IS. Couldn't go up a size without top bit being too big though.

AnnThology · 17/07/2011 15:57

im a 14 top 12 bottom
got medium

OhCobblers · 17/07/2011 16:18

faustina its the black fulfillment dress with draped jersey front that i was looking at (the one without the belt), its on NAP for £60 which is bargainous. do you love the way it fits although yours has the belt so perhaps looks quite different??

i really want the Arianna (b/w striped) for £320 Sad

OP posts:
faustina · 17/07/2011 17:36

the one you want is the one I just bought. Mine doesn't have a belt either - though you can wear one with it - if you look at how it's styled in the photos you'll see what I mean. It fits wonderfully - loose and drapey until the bum and then clingy, but not too clingy.

they don't have the arianna, but they do have a fulfillment in charcoal (though they say it's black) - and it has a thin white/off white stripe. they also have a light grey one.

CQrrrneee · 17/07/2011 18:15

I ordered one from NAP - £70 with postage. Postage is £10 - that's crazy!

OhCobblers · 17/07/2011 18:59

CQ thats why i'm dithering over size - want to get it right at that P&P cost!!
one of my pet hates is exorbitant postage prices.

OP posts:
CQrrrneee · 17/07/2011 19:08

I figured that even with the £10 postage it's an investment at that price!

OhCobblers · 17/07/2011 19:11

i agree - as long as it fits, but i can't just see how i'd be a small/size 10.
I sometimes am in Gap but thats it!!! Grin

ok, you've convinced me - i'll order tonight!!

OP posts:
OhCobblers · 18/07/2011 12:40

ordered last night as i was worried the Medium would sell out.
should have held out until today as NAP have just reduced it further to £42 - aarrgghhh!!!!!

OP posts:
CQrrrneee · 18/07/2011 12:42

NOOOOO!

OhCobblers · 18/07/2011 12:47

i know and i've already had a despatch email from NAP so i couldn't cancel and re-order either. gutted - would have been a huge bargain at £42- anyway - must try and get over it and just keep fingers crossed that it fits properly!!

OP posts:
CQrrrneee · 19/07/2011 12:39

Mine arrived today - doesn't fit

OhCobblers · 19/07/2011 13:49

me too - too big!
great, £10 to discover what my size is!!! oh well will chalk that one up to experience.

OP posts:
faustina · 19/07/2011 17:40

I sent a small back and they said they'd received it today - perhaps you could call them to change it?

IceCreamCastles · 19/07/2011 17:46

I ordered medium and it's too big- going to send it back on thurs but if any one would like it let me know- sale's finished now I think

OhCobblers · 19/07/2011 19:37

thanks faustina but i didn't really "love" it when i tried it on so i think i'm going to save for the Arianna which i really do love - fingers crossed that it goes in the sales at the end of the year!

however i was really pleased to see how it looks on having read so much about the cut and fit of her dresses. I think the right size in the right style (for me) is going to look fab!!
