For hot rollers I recommend the Babyliss flocked ones. They come with lovely things called "superclips" which are like a crocodile clip that keep them in lovely - unlike pins which I find a faff. They also have pins. They give you 10 clips per set.
What I found is that 2 sets gave me the right amount of clips and big rollers (I liked the big ones not the medium and little ones)
I stopped using them for the following reasons:
My hair got quite long (I first got them when I was growing out a bob and they were brilliant until my hair passed my shouders)
By the next day the curl had dropped out - in fact by later that day if windy or slightly moist in the air. Great for a night out though and gave a little root lift too if put in properly.
Look a right berk when they are in, postman thought it was effing hilarious
I found they worked best when my hair was barely dry, so timing a hair wash and a hair style was hard with young babies - I ended up preferring the GHD method which you do on bone dry hair, so in theory you can wash your hair the night before, let it dry, and GHD it in the morning, or even style it the night before and it lasts days.
They are not very portable. Night out at someone's house, weekend away, holiday abroad etc, not practical, particularly if you use 2 sets to make up your ultimate set.
But they are very good, I do recommend them, and can't bring myself to chuck em out even though I tend to favour my GHD's these days.
