Stylish mini toddler rucksack for preschool

I love bags and love bag shopping but can't justify buying any more for me Sad

Anyway, DD is starting preschool in September and would love to get her a really lovely little rucksack to take with her. I was thinking of a Cath Kidston rucksack but when I went to the preschool taster session every toddler was toting one and I don't want to just join the crowd.

So, what lovely bag could I get for her that will be practical and cute. Of course, I could just get a run of the mill Upsy Daisy one but I wanted something a little special.

Any suggestions?

also agree about samsonite, DS has the purse and pencil case in those too and they are fab!

Someone tell me this is a joke please.

Follyfoot why don't you piss off? This site isn't to stop you being bored by posting shitty comments on every thread.

My DD has the skiphop zoo bee one and it's really really cute!

Interesting how those of you criticising the op for not 'having better things to do' and saying she should 'get a life' have the time to post mean-spirited comments on here. Talk about pot calling the kettle black... .

I don't think you need to go wild for a bag, but I picked up one of these for DS over 2 years ago and it has lasted and looks great.

I got my DD1 a Waybuloo one from B and M stores when she started pre school.

It never occurred to me to spend money on the damn thing! I've got two DDs and years of demands ahead of me, I like that she can't make me waste money right now!

itsastrawpoll · 09/07/2011 12:31

I'm with follyfoot.

Actually, as an aside, I find it quite sad that people talk about what three year olds are 'toting' and not wanting to 'follow the crowd'. Let them be toddlers and enjoy this stage, they have the rest of their lives to be tormented by materialistic bollocks.

I agree with follyfoot. Madness. 30 odd quid for a childs rucksack for the sake of appearances!! Craaazy!

RoundOrangeHead · 09/07/2011 13:03

do they even need a rucksack at pre-school?

popcal · 09/07/2011 13:09

Skiphop owl rucksack is very cute! We've got a monkey design one which was a birthday present.

SeymoreButts · 09/07/2011 13:14

Why is the OP getting a hard time for this? It's a special childhood memory for her! If money were no object I might well spend £30 on a rucksack for the DCs.

YouCantTeuchThis · 09/07/2011 13:49

I meant to say that I picked it up in TK Maxx for £10 as I already had the Sammies ladybird changing bag which has (so far) lasted 4 years. Also bought in TK MAxx for £12.

drowning, both of your links are making me want to spend money Angry

My DD's have YUUbags and they saw on facebook that YUUbag are bring out a pre-school bag in September so we are hoping to get one for my nephew. I am not sure if they will be on sale in time for back to school, and it did not say how much. Maybe ask on their facebook page or website. www.YUUworld.com

The ones from Pottery Barn are lovely. There is a similar thread asking for secondary school bag suggestions. It has provoked exactly the same range of reactions.
