Slingbacks - is there ANY way to make them comfortable?

I'm a slingback virgin! I bought a pair in the sale today as I wanted a pair of shoes in a very specific colour, and the only other one's I've found are £65. The sale pair were a tenner....!

So, I'm now the proud owner of a pair of kitten healed patent pointy slingbacks, not leather, which I need to wear for the most part of a whole day to a wedding. How can I make them bearable? I've already looked in Boots and Superdrug for the Party Feet pads designed for them but haven't found any yet. Any other tips ladies????????

Wear them in obviously. Even if they aren't leather they give a bit. A bit of talc can help too, although I'm not sure why. HTH
