facials / treatment for blackhead prone skin and enlarged pores?

Hi,

I have blackhead prone skin (which seems to go red) and also enlarged pores around my checks and nose area. I really want to :

  1. clear the blackheads / redness
  2. try and reduce the enlarged pores

I'm thinking that I might need different treatments for both problems?

So S&B crowd what is the action plan that I need? I read about IPL with collagen boosters but am unsure where to get it done and if its the best course of action.....

i'm located in central london if anyone has any recommendations of a good practice / spa.

Thanks!

Hello.

I have different skin to you, mine is dry and I suffer from rosacea.

However a couple of years ago I did have some facials at the Liz Earle treatment rooms, which were pretty good.

I have also been to the Dermalogica salon in Kensington High street too, but many years ago.

Treat from the inside not the outside.

  1. Water with lemon slice and squeezed drink lots.
  2. Eat less mucus producing food ie avoid wheat, yeast, mushrooms, fermented alcohol.
  3. Imedeen tablets as supplement.
  4. Use No 7 skin purifying serum as a day moisturizer, plus No 7 intense.
  5. Smile and laugh a lot every day.

Do for at least 4 weeks- success

The Guinot Hydrodermie facials are good - they do claim to help with both those problems and are great for sensitive skin.

I've only had one so I can't really comment on long term effects, but the initial results were encouraging.

thanks.

Snowdropbooks, that is pretty much what I have been doing, except no 3 perhaps I should give the supplement a go too.

I think though I also need some outside attention, so want to give some facials a go too but they are expensive so want to make sure I choose the right ones!

thanks :)
