When is TOO OLD for a nose-ring?

I saw a woman in Boots today with a nosering and she must have been 45 - sorry but it looked silly with her smart winter coat and handbag. So when's the right age to stop the nosering?

well, I had mine done when I was a teenager and wore it on and off until I was in my mid 20s...then stopped! if I put it in now it would look really silly IMO. ( I am 40).

When's the right age to stop? When the person wants to stop. If she feels it's part of her image, and if she's comfortable with it then fair play to her, even if other people think she looks silly.

NomDePlume · 24/11/2005 13:58

never ever have one. They look tacky and cheap.

NomDePlume · 24/11/2005 13:59

not as bad as those ones in the face, between the top lip and the nose, nasty. Like the girl from the Sugababes

cupcakes · 24/11/2005 13:59

Going through the middle of the nose???
So, so ugly.

spidermama · 24/11/2005 13:59

I think they work on some people, no matter what their age. It's to do with what your style is in general.

On others (like me) they would just look foolish.

morningpaper · 24/11/2005 13:59

No no no WWB - my image was always sort of lesbian-biker but when I got to 30 and moved to the country then my shaved head looked frankly odd.

I think my nose-ring should perhaps go the same way...

Oh MP if only you had revealed that look in the frankly startling pic of your enourmous belly just before you dropped, what a stir that would have caused.

How's the baby btw?

morningpaper · 24/11/2005 14:02

hehe baby is just GREAT suzy! She's scrummy! Sleeping in the pram in the hall at the moment AHHH!

I've got my nose pierced, but I jave to say I don't like nose rings at all. You can just about get away with it as a teenager, but it just reminds me of junkies tbh.

NomDePlume · 24/11/2005 14:03

me too serenity.

suzywong · 24/11/2005 14:03
