I must be the only one on here that doesn't really see the appeal of Boden. Some of the girls clothes are sweet but it is so ridiculously expensive and the stuff is so 'young Conservative'

I've just been into our new Kew and think I will be buying from them in future rather than Boden.
Will still get the children's stuff from there though.
I think the sale may well start somewhere around the 6th Dec as that's when their current offer ends.
Just bought ds a fleece lined anorak thing with £10 off. Completely ignoring my own rules about waiting for the sale...

cupcakes · 24/11/2005 13:50

so, who here would buy stocks if they were floated on the market?

Enid · 24/11/2005 14:04

no way

fashion notoriously fickle

and once he has shareholders to please everything will go tits up

cupcakes · 24/11/2005 14:06

but most importantly, would you get a discount???

the only one NomDePlume??? - but on the contrary. mumsnet is a seething nest of boden-haters - just wait for this one to take off.

i get myself into a state of wild-eyed fury reading johnnie's cringey blurbs and i hate most of the clothes - they seem to be saying "oh well i may be 39 and a mum of 2 but i'm a 6-year-old at heart - isn't that cute?"

they do do the odd classic tho' and people say the kids stuff is nice - which makes more sense because they are six.

Gobbledigook · 24/11/2005 14:29

I keep getting catalogues with offers urging me to buy - but buy what exactly - it's all sold out!

Kids clothes are nice and I've got the odd nice thing for myself. I've got the tank top in the stripes and it looks brill over a white shirt with jeans and diesel white/green trainers. So ner.

I got shares in monsoon (wrote some stuff for them) and they ended up plummetting madly downwards

are you AA then Enid?

cupcakes · 24/11/2005 14:34

Gobbledigook - which stripes? Thick or thin?

Gobbledigook · 24/11/2005 14:38

Thick stripes - pink edging and stripes are pink, white, blue etc. I wasn't sure about it but it looks really good on with teh right thing.

Enid · 24/11/2005 14:42

I know

it happened to racing green too

and top shop mail order

MistleToo · 24/11/2005 14:57

Blimey Racing Green - I remember them - nice clothes

cupcakes · 24/11/2005 14:58

gdg - it's very in the spirit of Gap's Christmas stuff.

FrenchKissUnderMistletoeGirl · 24/11/2005 15:00

I think I'm weird: I cannot resist looking in depth at the Boden catalogues but never ever order anything
Is that an illness?

diva4mgl · 25/11/2005 15:35

not my cup of tea , never liked boden but dont mind looking thru the catalogue.

HRHWickedwaterwitch · 25/11/2005 16:01

Cod, I seem to have about 10 catalogues, they keep sending them!

MistleToo · 02/12/2005 00:29

Anne Ashworth again - thought she was a pensions bod?

is she a mnetter?

TheHollyAndTheTwiglett · 02/12/2005 06:24

I've never bought anything from boden .. never wanted to .. does that make me a bad mumsnetter?
