Talk to me about belts...

I need help.

I have a gorgeous salmon pink silk shift dress from Hobbs. It is a few years old and a lovely floaty soft fabric. (cap sleeves, above the knee)

Given that I'm top heavy (32h) I've realised that I really need a belt to avoid looking pregnant. I've tried a few 'hard' belts that I have but the fabric kind of balloons above it iykwim. I have an elasticated one that gives a much better silhouette but it looks really cheap.

Any suggestions?

Try spanx then a belt.

What about a leather pleated belt, not skinny but not wide either?

here

how about something like this Banana Republic one. Not rigid but soft.....or look at some of the others in the sale...some nice ones imo.

agree, but la redoute do nicer elasticated belts than the usual

Thanks all.

Or could a fabric sash (plus spanx) work?
If so where can a get such a thing? (my sewing skills are pretty feeble.)
