Ombre hair -dark roots light tips- does anyone endorse such drastic trendy dyeing?

Approaching 40- have gone from near waist length to a bob in the last six months and feel further funkification is required as bob makes me feel frumpy... this is a hair trend started of course by youngsters without a grey in sight who love it cos they don't have to worry about roots - and of course I do worry about roots, in addition I have got my sad ole locks 'hairdresser ready' by leaving on a John Freida foam dye for too long and am almost black haired now... any thoughts, anyone had it done?

I think its a hard look to pull off without looking simply like you need to have your roots done. To do so properly probably costs so much in a hairdresser you actually may as well have your roots done.

Agree to go for further funkification but there might be something more "obviously" funky but not obvious in a bad way that you can do.

If you have grey it would be hard to pull off this look I reckon. A non grey just needs to get a clever hairdresser to blend it all seamlessly whereas if you have grey you are probably wanting to cover that but in a colour that is believable which, if brown, is hard...it will be too dark, too shiny, too something...

Let us know what you decide, and how it goes though!

Cheers tatty! you are the voice of reason... will update on what I have had done. Think I might need to solicit photos of trendy coloured bobs via a new thread.
