I'm 39 and was wondering if I'm too old to wear Converses (with skinny jeans)?

No you are not. Converse can look good at any age, my mum still wears them with jeans and she is 53 (and looks great in them).

No not at all. Have a look at Superga too.

I have got 3 pairs.I don't wear the high tops anymore though.

Definitely OK. Ubiquitous footwear on non birkenstock/fit flop/haviana weather in my playground!

I wear them too, at 29, but look less great

Am 43 and I wear them, but then maybe I'm muttony and in denial - nope don't think so.

No socks or trainer socks. And lace them inwards.

Mine are fine but I don't wear them all the time. Trainer socks then!

I think skinnies with converse look good if you have smallish feet, other wise your feet tend to loom out infront of your tiny little skinny clad legs. I would opt for a straight leg jean if you are size 5+

My colleague is 62, super gorgeous and she wears them.

She looks great.

If mine get whiffy or dirty I wash them in the machine. Come up a treat.

surely Converses are ageless?
hope so as I'm 56 and wear with skinny jeans. Mine are not the bootie type though!

oooh I love converse. I'm over 40 and still wear them. Current pair are purple, hightops are for jeans only though, look crap with shorts and skirts. Normal sneaker types are required for skirts imho.

It's strange that so many people have a thing about Converses and skinny jeans, when ballet flats and skinny jeans have been an MN staple for ages.

I have thin legs (I'm a tall lanky size 8) and size-8 feet. I wear skinny jeans and Converse. I don't care.

Low-tops only though. And no visible socks.
