And?
testers feel very dry but then they are open and no lids.

Looking for a taupe shade- more grey than brown.

Do you mean the ones that come in little jars? I love, love, love them.

Try the Slate, it is a kind of grey/brown and v.useful as an everyday shade - I also use it as a soft eyeliner.

strawberryjelly · 25/06/2011 15:17

yes that's the one I mean!

their website says use with a brush.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 25/06/2011 15:23

Yes I have the brush. It is worth it, although I think the brush was as much as the shadow - possibly more!

I am a bit of a sucker for things like that, but I do adore Bobbi Brown make up. It is really good quality and it lasts for ages.

ShowMeTheMonet · 25/06/2011 15:28

Worth every penny - lasts ages and stay true. I wore sandy gold to a sweaty wedding in July last year and it was perfect when I collapsed in bed at 2am the next day. Brilliant.

Also brilliant is their shimmer brick and long wear gel eyeliner.

Trés addictive!

eurochick · 25/06/2011 15:32

Yes, wore some (along with other shadow) for my wedding in a beigey/gold shade.

strawberryjelly · 25/06/2011 15:40

I am tempted to order online- but tell me they aren't all shimmery as i am too old for that.

anyone got cement or sand dollar- and if so, what's the difference?

I've got 'bone' which I use as an every day base layer.
Not at all shimmery.
Also recommend the metallic ones - I have one in 'Galaxy' and its just lovely.

ShowMeTheMonet · 25/06/2011 16:04

Galaxy is gorgeous, yy! As is chrome patina - a line of that close to lashes makes them perfect for nights out.

I didn't know they did Bone in a pot - mine is a flat powder shadow. I'll investigate that.

Op no, not all shimmery but with Ms Browns makeup, it's not cheap shimmer. It's radiant shimmer.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 25/06/2011 16:12

Sand dollar is a bit shimmery, but in a good way. Slate is completely matt.

strawberryjelly · 25/06/2011 16:15

On the website, Slate looks very purple- which I don't suit.

Is it?

OP posts:
Alibabaandthe80nappies · 25/06/2011 16:16

No it isn't, it is grey/brown.

strawberryjelly · 25/06/2011 16:38

thanks- might wait until i can get to shops- but just tempted.

I recently got BB cream in Cement and absolutely love it. Really does what it says on the tin (or pot!). A lovely subtle neutral - no purple tinge, no sparkle, which I didn't want. Stays put brilliantly. Haven't got a brush but finger seemed to work OK.
Becca eye tints have always been my favourite but this is my new enthusiasm.

ShowMeTheMonet · 25/06/2011 17:50

I find they apply better with fingers too - the chap on QVC uses fingers as they warm the cream up and make it sheer. I use a brush for heavier coverage.

strawberryjelly · 25/06/2011 18:20

poly thanks- what shade would you say cement is?

OP posts:
strawberryjelly · 25/06/2011 18:21

p.s.- is it beige, taupe...? what kind of depth of colour?
I have been using Dior 5 shadow palette Incognito and love the pale-mid grey mixed with a tiny bit of the brown- but there are 2 shades out of the 5 I don't use and it seems a waste to replace.

OP posts:
polyhymnia · 25/06/2011 19:06

I would say it's a greyish taupe. Was also looking at the one called malted, but that was a bit too 'warm' for me.

I have that Dior palette too, and also don't use all the shades!

Emo76 · 25/06/2011 19:12

Galaxy fan here too - have brown eyes, it really works and lasts

OpusProSerenus · 25/06/2011 19:13

I have a few and love them. Sand dollar is ace for every day, beach honey is also quite light but a bit golder/peachier and lovely with a tan, heather is a rather neutral greyish lilac, galaxy for a slightly darker browny/grey and brown metal for a lovely glittery effect that you can use alone or with the others for a glitzy evening. I use the cream shadow brush and fingers to blend.

I also use the BB gel liner with them which is also really good

PinotsKittens · 26/06/2011 12:32

Oh I love these so much!
