Clever stylish people, can you find me the perfect denim skirt???

I had no idea it would be this difficult!

OK I would like a denim skirt for the summer, knee-length or thereabouts. I like the retro look of the button-through ones. I hate stiff denim or obvious bleached patches. I think a mid-shade would be best, don't mind light or dark but really don't like that very dark denim with contrastng stitching.

Any help gratefully appreciated - I am well out of practice at shopping!

Any joy in Gap?

Surprisingly little in Gap - nothing with buttons.

M&S have a few.

It's weird but I had been looking for a denim skirt for a year or two - everyone seemed to stop making them. I kept thinking I could see them in shops only to find they were those denim short/culotte things.

I love denim skirts and am so glad they're back.

Not too bad. I don't like the bleachy bits either but happy with this skirt.

I prefered this one, but they never have my size on their website and it isn't in any of their shops www.dorothyperkins.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=&catalogId=33053&storeId=12552&productId=2414623&langId=-1&sort_field=Relevance&categoryId=208660&parent_categoryId=208600&pageSize=20

White stuff Havana Harbour skirt here. I only take mine off to sleep...

IHeartKingThistle · 24/06/2011 22:26

I'm quite impressed with the M and S selection actually! I like the last one best I think.

Hmm, actually it does have enormous faded patches.

Why does so much denim have these? I understand an overall faded or vintage look, but why two random pale patches on the thighs? I don't understand it!

Bought the one in White Stuff then half hour later so almost identical skirt (but a useful inch longer so just sits on knee) in Mantaray section @ debenhams but £15 cheaper. Needless to say returned White Stuff skirt

IHeartKingThistle · 24/06/2011 22:57

Love that Jaeger one! Never had anything from them, do you get what you pay for does anyone know?

I heart Jaeger. Everything I've had from there has been great.

But size down, their sizes are enormous.

IHeartKingThistle · 24/06/2011 23:05

Good to know. But they don't have it in the next size down! Well that's probably a sign from the shopping gods. Back to have a look at the M&S ones...
