I want to glow

Anyone know how to achieve that dewy skinned look when you have dry skin? I used to adore clinique soft finish foundation which hit the spot perfectly but of course that's been discontinued and I am dismayed ever since. I have tried loads of other foundations but nothing works as well as my old clinique one. Perhaps I need to stop sealing foundation with powder, but I fear it will slide off my face if I do :(

Learn to use liquid highlighter. I particularly recommend Becca skin illuminator in Opal, not el cheapo so maybe try a cheaper product first or go to the shop and try it and a good tutorial for how you use it is this one

Then, even if you don't quite get your foundation right or whatever you will still have that youthful dewy glow!

I have suffered with shockingly dry skin in this pregnancy and found Dermalogica's Skin Smoothing Cream has completely saved me and using the Daily Exfoliant (although Daily use is a but much for my pregnant skin but when not pregnant I get compliments on my glow when use it).

I recommend both wholeheartedly!

Oh yes, Highbeam highlighter by benefit is lovely too.

Highbeam is nice - a little pinky toned though so doesn't suit everyone. Also good is the Body Shop one. The one I said looks almost skin toned but just dewy if that makes sense rather than majorly irridecent. Depends on skin tone. If you are very very pale then Becca's one called "pearl" will be better. If you are black or olive or asian skinned of course you need something different. Maybe the topaz one. What else is good. Moon Beam (benefit) has a nice apricotty glow to it so if you are very warm skinned, that might be better than the pinky one.

I personally think for a dewy glow the liquid ones are better than the powder ones like Bobbi Brown shimmer brick or the Bare Minerals Pure Radiance etc.

I'll second Becca's highlighter. Tatty's right. It's fabulous and the only highlighter that doesn't look glittery or overly sparkly, just dewy. I'm fairly olive skinned but the pearl one still suits me the best for some reason.

I've used Benefit Highbeam, and it's nice.
But not as good as Nars Multiple in Copacabana, which is creamier and a wee bit subtler.
Also, FAce Lift by Barbara Daly at Tesco is very good, there's a face lift foundation too, which is fantastic.

Drink plenty of water, moisturise well, using an illuminating moisturiser just on the cheeks and temples but not on T Zone. Use a satin finish foundation. Something like MAC's Face & Body Foundation is nice if you don't need a lot of coverage as it's very hydrating for dry dull skin. Just powder your T Zone and around your eyes, but not your cheeks and use a creme blusher. If required an additional highlighter on the cheekbones, browbone and temples.

I use a professional product that you can only buy in a small pro make up supplier in Shepherds' Bush called Maquillage Make up Mixer as a moisturising illuminating base. You can buy it online from here www.makeup-provisions.com/product_info.php/products_id/449 I don't think you can actually see it on the website but it's really lovely and it's what make up artists have been using since before most of the illuminating moisturisers were on the market. It's not shimmery at all, just sort of glowy. It's also perfect for turning foundation into tinted moisturiser as it is, as the name suggests, a make up mixer.
