Tinted moisturiser. Is it the worst of both worlds?

Have become incredibly lazy about makeup recently, and was vaguely contemplating tinted moisturiser. I have quite greasy skin (well, combination really), is it likely to make me break out more than moisturiser + base?

Have heard good things about a Clarins one, any recommendations?

I've got quite oily skin and recently got the olay touch of foundation stuff. Never used moisturiser before and it's taken me a few goes to get it right on my face iyswim? I might invest in a better one later tho.

I have used the Olay one and the cover it gives is patchy, esp on my nose, don't know why! I think I'm going to chuck it - might invest in a more expensive one.

Minnie I've found that it's very shiny unless I use primer under it, not sure if that's because my skin is oily and therefore it's the wrong product or if it's just shitey shiteola, but with the primer it's lovely.

I've recently got the Clinique one, and to be honest, I'm not overly impressed. It feels very chalky and dry.

Really like their new cream that's supposed to even skin tone though - it's a really nice base.

I'm quite oily and find most tinted moisturisers quite a lot too moisturising. The cheapy Nivea one is excellent (it's only about a fiver, too). Alternatively, a good idea is to mix your normal foundation and moisturiser in your hand and use that. It's less likely to make you shiny or dry if it's two products that already work well for you.

I use the cheapy Nivea one too and swear by it. Been using it for years - goodbye foundation!

This is on my wish list. I've bought their foundation before and it is beautiful and invisible on the skin.

I need to buy a decent foundation for wedding in 3 weeks (along with, you know, a dress) when I go shopping next week, so maybe I'll just try mixing that with normal moisturiser for a while.

Will also accost Bobbi brown/MAC people and see if I wrangle a sample or two.

I always use the No7 tinted moisturiser and think it's really good, better than more expensive brands I've tried.

I have combination skin but this just gives you lovely dewey skin with a hint of colour. I do wear foundation a lot and this is a great lighter alternative.

EL one gives a lovely colour but minimal coverage so I put a bit of the clinique on on nose .Both pass the X5 mirror test in that they look very natural up close.

I'd like 1 that helps 2 disguise/reduce pores, that doesn't go patchy & leaves a long lasting natural finish 4 combination skin.

I like the clinique one, very natural light coverage. I don't think it is really a tinted moisturiser though, more a very light foundation.

Depends which one. Laura mercier is good as is boots botanic. I like foundation mixed with superdrug vit E irridescent moisturiser.

I have never bothered using it tbh.

If I don't want to wear foundation I just use primer on its own (the tesco one is amazingly good)

I use Estee Lauder Daywear Sheer Tint. V good but I still like a little mineral powder on shiney nose.

I use the Virgin Vie one. I don't care for foundation as I feel that my skin is too clogged up with it on. Tinted moisturiser is the best of both worlds for me. I have combination skin BTW.

I use the Nivea one too, and I have combination skin. I love it. Not sure it'd be suitable for winter use but it's completely solved my summer make-up conundrum... And at the moment it's £1.50 (yes! £1.50) in Sainsburys!

NB don't get the more expensive Q10 Nivea tinted moisturiser. I've tried it this morning & I don't think it's suitable for non-dry skin.
