Do I really need to dry clean it?

I want to buy a whistles dress, it's lovely, wearable and useful but it says dry clean only. It's 100% lyocell, do I really need to dry clean I or will it wash ok?

I'd google the fabric and see what its like. I washed a cheap new look viscose dress 10 years ago that said dry clean only and I handwashed it but it went from ankle length to mid calf. Better safe than sorry! Needless to say I learnt my lesson with viscose.
