I had some done for my birthday. Just a few on the outer corners. Cost me £25 I think but I ended up picking them out because I wear glasses and they don't work when you wear glasses!

TattyDevine · 14/06/2011 18:49

I use strip lashes, Mac 33's my favourite everyday is she or isn't she lash...

Tell us about semi-permaments FireandiceBeauty. Do they have to be maintained like false nails and how long do they last?

electra · 14/06/2011 19:12

It depends what kind you have. You can get individual inserts for about £10 but extentions are much more, about £130 plus for the first set and it takes about an hour and a half. They are high maintenance and need refills every 2 weeks for about £30 a time. Ive had both and dont particularly rate them as treatments go (would much rather spend money on a facial). I also dont think the extentions are superior enough in appearance to justify how much more they cost than inserts.

electra · 14/06/2011 19:14

They dont last much longer than 4 weeks ime. Unless you avoid laughing, crying, sleeping on your side, cooking and having a shower forever!

ilove · 14/06/2011 19:14

reported fireandice you have to pay to advertise on MN

TattyDevine · 14/06/2011 19:16

I like "master lash technician" though. Better than some old hag with a pot of glue and some Eyelure Grin

smartyparts · 14/06/2011 19:19

The girl on reception at the gym had them on today.

They looked like big hairy spiders were sitting on her eyelids.

electra · 14/06/2011 19:20

LOL smartypants, I agree they look like spiders.

gettingolderbytheday · 14/06/2011 19:29

I suppose though they'd look good for a special occasion such as a weekend wedding etc. If I had inserts how many do you need and do they price per lash?
Do they look much better than mascara? - although my eye-lashes are so thin and my eye-bags so bad that mascara doesn't look great on me anyway.

TattyDevine · 14/06/2011 20:06

What makes you sure they were eyelash inserts though Smarty/Electra? Often, the really spidery lashes turn out to be strip lashes that they apply themselves in the morning...

electra · 14/06/2011 20:54

Tatty, I thought they looked liked spiders on me lol

skyebluepink · 14/06/2011 21:14

I don't think they are the solution as they are high maintenance, don't work with glasses, can be annoying, are expensive and need a master technician. I think your time and money is best spent on strip lash falsies, boots eyelure are good and mastering the art of putting them on- for nights out / special occasions. Lisa Eldridge does a good tutorial.

noddyholder · 14/06/2011 21:17

I had them but eyelash grow serum is much better and is natural! Expensive but my lashes have doubled in thickness strength and length in a mont and apparently it takes 3 months for full effect

Igetknockeddownbutgetupagain · 14/06/2011 21:21

I vote for Falsies. These 'Ardell' ones are the best I've tried, after trying proper rubbish £1 jobbies compared with Shiseido and MAC...

They're £5.11 and you can get them in Boots.

Don't use the adhesive they give you, its rubbish. Duo 'surgical adhesive' is formulated especially for eyelashes and its totally amazing.

Its a little over a fiver and lasts forever.

I've tried the eyelash extensions a couple of times now but it really isn't cost effective. I found even being as careful as I possibly could be, they were still falling out by the minute.

livvyliv · 15/06/2011 10:32

Noddyholder which eyelash serum do you use?

noddyholder · 15/06/2011 10:46

I use revitalash

livvyliv · 15/06/2011 11:56

Thanks Noddy
