ebay probably or try gumtree if you have a set amount in mind.

Karbea · 14/06/2011 08:31

Aren't there second hand wedding dress shops, don't you think I'd get a better price that way?

Nobody seems to want 2nd hand wedding dresses tbh, I had one bid of £300 for a £4,000 dress, I don't think so, it didn't reach the reserve, i'd rather my daughter dressed up in it than give it away for that.
My advice, make the Christening gown out of.

Karbea · 14/06/2011 20:26

Umm well one of them I didn't wear, and the other was from my first marriage...

Preloved was good for me!

If your dress is somewhat dated, might be worth putting it on Ebay under fancy dress (bride of Frankenstein etc.) as well as wedding dress

Karbea · 14/06/2011 21:19

Ok I'll look there, one is a gorgeous Vera Wang, the other is a brand new never been worn candy Anthony.

where are you? I have a friend organising a wedding dress / accessories sale in North London.

ZombiePlan · 15/06/2011 16:39

Am in same boat - sprinkles, what is your friend's plan?

chocolateteabag · 15/06/2011 17:20

I sold mine through one of the secondhand wedding dress sites - worked out cheaper than ebay.
Cost £15 for 6 months - sold within a month.

If you search for secondhand bridal and then go from there - my theory is that anyone looking for a dress will do a similar search to get to the same sites.

Mine was a Jenny packham - the brand name dresses always sell better - so I figure yours would too?

I made DS christening outfit from mine and still have plenty of fabric for christening gown for DD when she arrives later this year :-)
I had mine on gumtree to start with for £200 Ono and got no response it was £1200.

sprinkles77 · 15/06/2011 19:24

Zombie look here.

ZombiePlan · 15/06/2011 21:07

Thanks!

Sell My Wedding Dress was recommended to me by the staff in the (very nice) shop where I bought mine. You should get a better price than on ebay.

wineandcheese · 15/06/2011 22:57

Preloved, Rock My Wedding and Ebay all worth a go.

minkymeerkat · 16/06/2011 11:52

have you put them up for sale yet? I'm looking for my daughter, I need to know best sites to look on

chocolateteabag · 17/06/2011 23:39

Ah sellmyweddingdress was the one I used to sell mine.

Prefer these sites to ebay as it feels like there is less panic on when there isn't a clocking ticking on an auction!
