Running gear - any colour as long as it's black?

Oh wise women of Style and Beauty I seek your council!

Does anyone know where I can get stylish running gear in colours other than black? I can find coloured tops but bottoms (I prefer 3/4 length capri style running tights) always seem to be black. I KNOW it's slimming but surely someone does blue or navy at least?

I'm a fairly serious runner so it needs to be technical clothing i.e. proper running gear not cheap jersey stuff.

I have a navy pair of Nike "Be Bold" capris which I bought from Next in the sale, but they might as well be black.

But why do you want a brightly-coloured lycra-clad arse?

Oh dear Cointreau what an image! I'll have you know I have a very nice arse but as it happens the subject came up because after my last race my family commented that as all the female runners were uniformly clad in black it was hard to pick me out from the crowd. I looked back at the pictures and realised that they were right.... Lots and lots of very dreary black.

I'm not neccessarily looking for a bright arse pair of tights but I thought that it might be fun to find something in blue, purple or burgandy for example. Elegant but cheerful????

Some of the adidas stuff has bright flashes at the knee, maybe that would suffice?

I go day-glo on the top half - my running top is such a bright pink it makes my eyes hurt!

Not sure the khaki is really my colour but the light blue is pretty.... that's much more like it! I see that there is a matching top too. Definitely going to treat myself to some of those!

Well done Tilly! these look great and are eminently suitable (moisture wicking and anti chafing to keep you comfy on the run!)

How about Maloja? Most of their summer gear is for cycling rather than running, but they do some multi-sport and running kit too. Red capris with a star on your bum should make you easy to spot! minx stocks them and I've seen some on amazon too.

I think most people wear black because with all that jolting and sweating they are concerned about the wet patches that show on other colours. You will be advertising that you are fully continent and un sweaty if you go for coloured bottoms!

Have you looked at girlsruntoo. They sell some really nice fitness gear and lots of it is in colours other than black. I especially like the Sugoi ranges which are hard to get anywhere else. Delivery is quick too.

You have to check out Sweaty Betty's stuff. I love it, love it, love it. Could (and often do) spend a fortune there....

Hi Ladies, thanks so much for these suggestions, I've been enjoying looking at all your links.

Cardi- the Maloja stuff is great - some of their tops are really beautiful..... While I really like the red tights, stars on my bum might be a step too far, have a feeling those might increase the number of idiots cars tooting as they pass!

Baby while thankfully I am able to report that I am fully continent I will give the sweat patch factor full considetation!!
