Boots with skirts

I've bought a pair of boots which I think are meant to be worn with trousers - black, just over the ankle, zip up the inside, pointy toe, low kitten heel - but can I wear them with a skirt?

I would say no to wearing ankle boots with skirts. They'll have a tendency to look like 1980s pixie boots

compo · 15/11/2005 13:04

You could wear them with a long skirt but I think knee length skirts look best with knee high boots

That's clear then!

But if I did wear them with a long skirt, what would I wear on my legs? Opaque black tights to continue the illusion of higher boots?

Please refrain

PrettyCandles · 15/11/2005 13:14

Don't worry, Fimbo - it's academic anyway, because I live in trousers! Am constantly tempted to try a change though...

And what are you trying to do to me Trinny&Suzannah-oid? Even I know that ankle boots with patterned tights would look sooooo 80s!

Especially if you wore them with leg warmers

if you have fantastic legs

intergalacticwalrus · 15/11/2005 13:21

I would waer patterened tights, but It would make mt chubby legs look like manky, badly wrapped sticks of rock

Hang on a sec (back-pedalling here), what exactly do you mean by 'patterned'?

Yes, that is what I thought. Trouble is, my calves that don't even fit into wider-legged knee-boots, so I think those sorts of patterns would make me look really huuuuuuuuge.

I do however have one anckle-length skirt with a slit up the side...might try it.
