Non-chavvy trainers?

Advice please on trainers (or trainer-type shoes) for everyday wear. Must be cheap (can go to £30-ish), not white and not make my size 7 feet look like boats. A tall order I know but have full confidence you ladies can help.

New Look had tan ones with velcro rather than laces - but maybe summer stock as they didn't have any 8's! Next also do some sporty looking shoes but not trainers and not as clumpy as walking boots iykwim.

Get some Converse All Stars. They sell them in Office but are about half that price in a regular sports store. They're like a basketball shoe, so come up to the ankle, or I think you can get ones like tennis shoes. They come in all sorts of colours and look great under jeans. They need spraying with waterproof stuff, though, otherwise they'll get ruined very quickly x

Tx littlelamb - Love the pink ones! Can you suggest where else to buy apart from Office?

TK Maxx, Schuh (they do Dunlop velcro ones)

Yeah we have a Sports soccer, (or Soccersports, don't actually know the name of the shop!) It's the kind of place that is always saying its shutting but never does! I thnk I saw a poster saying they were only about £15 in there. I am getting pink ones when my next student loan comes through
