Bikini waxing at home...

I'm finished with shaving my bikini line. I have had it waxed a few times at a salon but I'm thinking about home waxing....So just wondered if you get the same results and if anyone has any product recommendations :)

Tried it, found it all but impossible! I'd go with cream or an epilator.

I've got an epilator - sounds likes agony though. I find hair removal creams rubbish....I get regrowth just as quickly as with shaving.....

I used the Veet (I think) hot microwave wax. There are never enough strips of cotton in the pack so I buy an extra half metre of cotton from the fabric shop and cut the strips to size.

It works best if you shower first so the skin isn't oily and trim any really long hair first. Pull the skin taught before you whip the strip off to stop it pulling the skin. It might be easier to do smaller areas first while you get the hang of it. I can do my own brazillians these days, you just need a mirror Blush.

I find a better result with the warm wax (microwavable)

However if you then maintain it really frequently , I find that the cold wash strips are easy and convenient. (however if things have got slightly out of control then the cold strips may not cope!)

cold wax strips that should have said

How do you get the angle right? Some bits just aren't very accessible!

mmmm things have got a bit out of control since I gave up on shaving a few weeks ago....will look for some wax strips :)

When it gets to the awkward bits I just do little strips of wax at a time. It can be a bit tricky at first but it gets easier with practice.

I'm in the same boat as the OP, was considering using my epilator but have never waxed so wasn't sure if I should try that.

If you wax your bikini line, how long would you expect to go before you have to do it again. Also, the hairs have to be reasonably long to wax I guess so what do you do whilst you are waiting for the hair to get long enough to wax again? Just not go swimming?
