I will be looking for similar for when I no longer have a child in a buggy to stash things under. Both are good, but I think I would go for the second one.
What's the alternative? Taking the car everywhere?
Start a trend!!

GhostInTheBackOfYourHead · 26/05/2011 08:30

Round my way (pretentious hip part of East London) they're very trendy. I have had one for years and it is a lifesaver. Those ones you loinked to are very expensive though. We have lots of street markets where you can pay much less for some quite aesthetically pleasing ones.
Go for it!

CroissantNeuf · 26/05/2011 08:34

I've seen threads on here about them before and I've seen a couple of women in their 30s/40s with them recently so I think (younger) people are realising that they are very practical.

Go for it!

cheeryface · 26/05/2011 08:38

nobody under 70 has one around here lol really . i know i will get a few looks but i dont care. i havent passed my driving test yet and because of problems with ds2 have had to put my lessons on hold for a while.

There's nowt wrong with a bit of tartan. I have artificial flowers twisted round mine Grin. Fancy working a tartan/floral combo?

cheeryface · 26/05/2011 08:42

lol bluddy , i have somehow developed a strange yearning for one of these now , i think the fact that my kids are horrrified and embarassed at the thought might be why ! haha payback time !

can i ask you how much stuff can generally fit in ? how much of a supermarket trolley shop would go in do you reckon ?

BluddyMoFo, your trolley can climb stairs? Shock God, I want one of those. I'm arthritic and live on the first floor.
In the absence of stair climbing wheels, I've been doing my shopping in Iceland and they deliver it to my address for no charge. Pretty good for the basics, is Iceland.

GhostInTheBackOfYourHead · 26/05/2011 08:46

With judicious packing I can get about 3 or 4 carrier bags worth into my trolley. Mine is a rectangular one with a metal frame so very roomy.

mousymouse · 26/05/2011 08:46

how about one from reisenthel?

Blackduck · 26/05/2011 08:47

In Venice these are standard - everyone from 9 (okay maybe not 9) to 90 has one and no one bats an eye. I want one, my friend threatens to shot me if I buy one..... ANother friend has one in a cool cow print

mousymouse · 26/05/2011 08:48

I agree they are very practical.
as soon as I don't have an excuse to keep the pushchair anymore I will get one.

GhostInTheBackOfYourHead · 26/05/2011 08:53

mousymouse- those trollies are gorgeous but the price! I could get twenty taxis home from the shops for that amount of money.

GhostInTheBackOfYourHead · 26/05/2011 08:53

on twenty separate occasions, I mean, not a convoy. I eat a lot, but not that much Grin

Mollymax · 26/05/2011 09:07

If you have an Ikea near you, they do trendy trolleys very cheap, under a tenner. They last well, i have one in our motor home, it is great, can fit so much stuff in.

chickchickchicken · 26/05/2011 09:41

dunelm were selling them for £10. iirc they had plain, spotty and floral

blossoming · 26/05/2011 09:55

Looking back over the site, and yes I know it's £££, but this is my favourite.

whitechocolatebuttons · 26/05/2011 10:03

My ex-boss (male designer and gallery owner, VVV cool arty type) had one a few years ago, he would wheel it round all over, sometimes with his little daughter sticking out of the top of it! They are cooool.

seb1 · 26/05/2011 10:05

Ikea

GhostInTheBackOfYourHead · 26/05/2011 10:06

Bluddymofo- thanks for that info.

lostinindia · 26/05/2011 10:12

I thought about getting one for picnics.

orangina · 26/05/2011 10:22

That typhoon spotty one has a touch of the (whispers) BODEN about it.

No, no, no, no.

Nothing hip about a Boden shopping trolley.....

Less is more. Keep it simple.

cheeryface · 26/05/2011 11:07

aha thanx ikea may be the one , thats if i can pursuade dh to take me there . he vowed never again after last time Grin
